O álbum de estreia saiu este ano, chama-se "Frankie Rose and the Outs" e é mais um projectos musicais de Frankie Rose a seguir com atenção.

Mais uma. Tendo em conta quantidade de vezes que tenho feito referência a novas e execelentes bandas que têm aparecido em Nova Iorque nos últimos tempos, este blog começa a soar a déjà vu.
Desta vez os eleitos chamam-se Small Black e vêm de Brooklyn (Nova Iorque) - com toda a certeza, o bairro com mais bandas e boa música do planeta.
Depois de ainda neste ano terem lançado o EP "Small Black", a banda acaba de lançar o seu primeiro álbum através da Jagjaguwar. Chama-se "New Chain" e é mais um disco a destacar em 2010.

Ora aqui está mais uma excelente surpresa deste ano. Chamam-se Wild Nothing, vêm da Virginia (EUA) e lançaram recentemente o seu primeiro álbum "Gemini".
E para uma banda com um ano de actividade, a sua primeira aventura discográfica não correu nada mal. Muito pelo contrário, os Wild Nothing surpreenderam-me de que maneira com este álbum que vai beber à dream pop, shoegaze, indie dos 80's as suas principais influências.
Pois é, 2010 promete.

Pois é, já estou em countdown para as férias. Já cheira a praia, mar e descanso.
E muito me engano ou o primeiro registo discográfico dos californianos Best Coast vai ser a minha banda banda sonora deste Verão. Chama-se "Crazy for You", vai sair no final deste mês de Julho para o mercado e promete ser uma das boas revelações do ano.

The Big Pink @ Optimus Alive! 2010

Os Big Pink foram também uma daquelas bandas que eu tinha muita curiosidade em ver no 3º dia do Optimus Alive. Não foi um daqueles inesquecíveis que eu continuarei a falar e a relembrar daqui a 20 anos, mas gostei muito.

Me-mo-rá-vel. Numa palavra, foi assim o concerto dos Pearl Jam no Optimus Alive 2010. E para os milhares que estiveram presentes, este terá sido com toda a certeza um momento marcante nas suas vidas.
Ao longo de cerca de 1 hora e meia, os Pearl Jam percorreram os vários álbuns e brindaram o público com os grandes épicos da banda. Quanto aos mais de 45 mil que enchiam o recinto do festival, não deixaram os seus créditos por mãos alheias e acompanharam Eddie Vedder em únissono do primeiro ao último minuto. Motivo, mais que justo para o elogio de Eddie Vedder aos milhares de backvocals dos Pearl Jam nessa noite: "You guys are the best singing crowd in the world!"
Na verdade houve momentos únicos, quase mágicos, entre Eddie Vedder e o público. Aliás, para além de haver aqui uma paixão correspondida entre a banda e o público nacional, os Pearl Jam mostraram-se especialmente empenhados em fazer deste concerto um momento muito especial.
E para tornar esta noite ainda mais inesquecível, os Pearl Jam decidiram premiar mimar o público com um inédito em que o refrão era, nada mais, nada menos que "Portugal, Portugal". Lindo.
Mas também houve um momento triste. Sim, é difíl acreditar, mas houve um momento algo amargo nesta noite de sábado quando Eddie Vedder, em bom português, afirmou "Obrigado por virem ao nosso último show. Não último de sempre, mas o último em muito tempo". Esperemos que o Eddie Vedder esteja errado e que não seja assim por tanto tempo.

The National - Bloodbuzz Ohio

E já agora, aqui fica o primeiro single do álbum "High Violet".

High, high, high, high

Para não variar, o mais recente álbum "High Violet" dos The National é maravilhoso. Um daqueles discos que, para mim, dificilmente deixará escapar o troféu de melhor disco do ano na minha lista final de 2010. É possível que a minha admiração por estes senhores esteja a condicionar as minhas palavras ou que me leve a fazer análises tendenciosas.
Sim, é verdade que isso pode acontecer, mas não quero saber. Não mudo uma única palavra. E já agora, se quisrem confirmar, podem ouvir o álbum no posto de escuta.

A nova dos Interpol

Os Interpol também vão lançar um novo álbum.
O quarto registo da banda de Nova Iorque tem data prevista para Setembro, mas o primeiro single "Lights" já está a rodar nas rádios. Enquanto esperamos pelo álbum, aqui fica o novo clip para adoçar a boca.

A nova dos The National

O próximo álbum dos The National sai só a 11 de Maio. Mas os senhores de Brooklyn fizeram o favor de tocar uma das novas cações no Q TV para abrir o apetite.

Mark Linkous, líder, vocalista, compositor e mentor dos Sparklhorse morreu no passado sábado dia 6 de Março.
O músico norte americano de 47 anos, suicidou-se com um tiro no coração.
